Get Involved

Each year, about 150 volunteers at Dalhousie commit their time and efforts to help meet the United Way's goals. We believe in the good work of the United Way, and in the strength of our communities when we work together. Now, more than ever, we need you to make our campaign a success!

Make a donation, organize an office raffle, host a bake sale, or become an area coordinator or canvasser. There are plenty of ways to get involved - the greater the Dal participation, the more successful our campaign. For more information, contact Joni Brown at 494-1122, or Liz Publicover at 494-1131.

Special event ideas

Special events are an excellent part of a workplace campaign. They can create awareness, motivate, promote team spirit and create friendly competition. But most of all they are fun! Some events which have been used or suggested include:

Bake off - Pay to taste and vote for your favourite
50/50 Draw
Pizza party (or the like)
Casual Fridays
Bake sale(s)
Donate items and sell tickets on them
BBQ
Toll booth
Potluck meal
Sell potted slips off plants - watch your investment grow!
Bring in your pop cans/bottles for recycling
Donate your pennies or spare change for a month
